Children’s Storytime with Jay Schauer, The Birds That Wish That They Were Fish

BOLD is thrilled to host a special children’s storytime with Jay Schauer, author of The Birds That Wish That They Were Fish.
What do you get when you combine a retired teacher who is passionate about nature, twelve of his artistically-talented former students and a dozen unique and fascinating water-loving birds? The Birds That Wish That They Were Fish – a children’s picture book for all ages. Come learn about these birds through rhymes and beautiful artwork and maybe share your own story of a favorite watery bird.
Jay Schauer is a recently retired public educator. Jay’s first children’s book, The Birds That They Were Fish, draws on his knowledge of birds and comes to life with art from twelve former students. Jay has articles on Common Murres in scientific journals and teaching and learning at Edutopia.org.
