BOLD Presents: Children’s Storytime with Author Giacomo Ranieri
BOLD invites you to join us for a very special storytime featuring the author of Sealocked Spirits, Giacomo Ranieri.

Makala grew up sailing a sea with ancient wise coral, moss spirits, and loving peaceful mariners. At only fourteen she became a leader within The Clan.
Shortly after she became The Clan’s spiritual guardian mainlanders invaded. With blades and fire they burned plants and took The Clan’s homes. The Clan asked spirits of their four sacred isles for the strength to fight back. With no answer from the spirits they became formidable warriors and defended their isles.
Almost every mariner of The Clan is on the mainland. It has been over a year since they left to fight the mainlanders. Makala is alone at home, with the spirits, the elders, and the children.
Today Makala sails to the four sacred isles, to ask the spirits for blessings. She has the will to speak for The Clan, but something feels wrong. They want to fight, so Makala will ask the spirits to help The Clan defeat the mainlanders.
It seems like the days when The Clan met anger with love are gone. Her heart is heavy with how much the war has changed The Clan. But she is grateful to still be home. She hopes the spirits will grant her wisdom; she hopes the spirits will help her guide The Clan back to a life of peace.
