Join Oregon authors MM Desch (Tangled Darkness) and Kathleen Rhodes (The Dark Road) for an in-depth discussion of their debut psychological thrillers. Both writers draw from their extensive careers in mental health to craft gripping narratives exploring trauma, reality, and healing.

Desch, a former psychiatrist, and Rhodes, a practicing psychiatric nurse practitioner, will discuss how their medical backgrounds inform their fiction, read from their works, and engage in conversation about the intersection of psychological authenticity and suspense in contemporary thrillers. MM Desch brings over three decades as a practicing psychiatrist to her debut psychological thriller, Tangled Darkness. With a passion for telling realistic stories about the veiled realm of psychiatric practice, Desch blends crime and suspense with her real-world knowledge of addiction medicine. She and her wife live in Portland, Oregon.

Kathleen Rhodes spent their formative years in Gresham, Oregon. Growing up as the third of five siblings, they embarked on a journey of self-discovery leading them to work in the healthcare field. From counselor to Registered Nurse and finally a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, their career has spanned a variety of populations.
