BOLD is thrilled to host a reading with Michael Strelow, author of John and Julie and Robert, in conversation with Steven Mayfield, author of Sixty Seconds.

Join Oregon authors Michael Strelow and Steven Mayfield for readings from their latest novels and a discussion of “The Jazz of Writing.” Strelow and Mayfield will also offer discussions of the writing process and a variety of literary questions and concerns.

Michael Strelow’s first novel, The Greening of Ben Brown (2005) was a finalist for the Ken Kesey Novel Prize (Hawthorne Books). His second novel was, Henry: A Novel of Beer and Love in the West (2014), based on the life of 19th century brewer and entrepreneur, Henry Weinhard.  His third and fourth novels, Some Assembly Required (2017 nominated for the Arthur C. Clarke Award in science fiction) and The Moby-Dick Blues (March 2018) are published by John Hunt Books, Roundfire imprint. His novel for 2025 (Sept. 2nd pub date) is John and Julie and Robert from Regal House Publishing.

Steven Mayfield is the award-winning author of four novels and one collection of short fiction. His work often blends heart, humor, and a dash of crime.
