BOLD is thrilled to host a reading with Johnnie Mazzocco, author of Miranda’s Garden, in conversation with Phoenix McDonald, author of A Discovery of Talents.
Johnnie Mazzocco is a writer and former college instructor whose fiction has appeared in So to Speak, roofbeam, and Narrative Northeast, with recognition from Moondance Film Festival. She devotes herself to a nature-centered life with her feline familiar, Iris, weaving ritual, plants, and magic into her debut novel, Miranda’s Garden.
Phoenix McDonald is a disabled, transgender, queer author writing full time in Portland. He has written many horror and scifi short stories that have been published in numerous anthologies, and is now writing YA fantasy and adult horror novels. A Discovery of Talents and The Crystal Island are Phoenix’s first published novels.
